FAIRLEA (WVDN) – Rising Christian Music star, Zach Williams is coming to the State Fair of West Virginia. His concert is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16 at 8 p.m. Here is some information about the artist to get you hyped for the show!

Zach Williams, the Grammy Award-winning Christian music artist, has been making waves in the music industry with his soulful voice and powerful lyrics. Williams, who began his career in rock music, has found a new calling in Christian music, where he uses his talents to inspire and uplift listeners.

Born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Williams was initially part of the rock band “Zach Williams & The Reformation”. The band toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, but it was a life-changing experience that led Williams to Christian music.

During a tour in Spain, Williams heard “Redeemed” by Big Daddy Weave on the radio. The song’s message resonated with him, leading to a profound spiritual transformation. He left the rock band, returning to his hometown to serve as a worship leader in his local church.

Williams’ journey into Christian music began in earnest with his debut single, “Chain Breaker,” in 2016. The song quickly climbed the charts, reaching No. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. It also won him a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song in 2018. His debut album, “Chain Breaker,” was released in 2017. The album succeeded commercially, reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. It also earned Williams a Dove Award for New Artist of the Year in 2017.

Williams’ success continued with his second album, “Rescue Story,” released in 2019. The title track became another hit, reaching the top 10 on the Hot Christian Songs chart. His song “There Was Jesus,” a duet with Dolly Parton, won the 2021 Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Its raw honesty and emotional depth characterizes Williams’ music. He draws on his personal experiences to create songs that speak to the struggles and triumphs of faith. His powerful voice, combined with his heartfelt lyrics, has resonated with listeners, making him one of the most compelling voices in Christian music today.

Despite his success, Williams continues to serve as a worship leader in his local church and is dedicated to using his music to inspire and uplift others. He is a testament to the power of faith and the transformative power of music.

In the world of Christian music, Zach Williams has carved out a unique space for himself. With his talent and powerful lyrics, he continues to inspire listeners with his message of faith and redemption.
