GREENBRIER COUNTY (WVDN) – The David Yarid Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Greenbrier County Schools Foundation, was awarded to Nicole Cochran, a 2023 graduate of Greenbrier East High School. Nicole plans to attend Concord University and major in Business Administration.

The David E. Yarid Scholarship Fund was established in 1989 to honor the memory of David Yarid, a young businessman in the prime of his life. The scholarship also honors the Yarid family who has been prominent in the local business community for many years.

The scholarship is for $500 each year for four years to a graduating senior at Greenbrier East High School who demonstrates outstanding achievement in the field of business and who plans to pursue a college education in this field. The recipient is chosen by the faculty of the business department of Greenbrier East High School.
