Veterans enter military service to protect. On Wednesday, November 29, three Vietnam veterans took action to protect the war monument in White Sulphur Springs from vehicle traffic.
Bobby White, Jim Quick, and Gary Ray, members of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Eastern Highlands Chapter #1072, began placing the first of eight bollards with chain in front of the monument after tire tracks were discovered on the pavement close to one of the black granite walls.
