FAYETTEVILLE, WV- After a pitcher’s duel between Central Greenbrier’s Elijah Sherman and Sophia’s Connor P. that forced a scoreless game until the fourth inning, Sophia scored aa run in the fourth and a run in the fifth to steal a 2-0 win over Central Greenbrier on Wednesday night, June 28.
Sherman struck out 12 batters on the evening and allowed only four hits but fell just short.
Connor P. had 10 strikeouts of his own for Sophia in the winning effort.
CG had just four hits. Alex Hanna, Evan Dixon, Bo Bundy, and Carter Huffman each had one hit apiece.
Central Greenbrier will return to action tomorrow night against Midland Trail at 8:00 PM in Fayetteville.
