FAIRLEA, WV- Greenbrier East softball capped off the 2023 campaign with 4 ladies being selected to the Class AAA all-state team.
Senior Josi Ervin (pitcher), senior Lindsey Black (utility), and junior Taylor Boswell (infield) were named to the second team, while junior Lily Carola was selected to the honorable mention list.
Ervin, who will suit up for the Concord Lady Mountain Lions next season, had a big year at the plate and on the mound.
She hit .368, had nine doubles, a home run, 12 RBIs and she also scored 35 runs. In the circle, she was 16-5 with a 1.28 ERA and 181 strikeouts in the highest classification in West Virginia.
Black was Ms. consistency throughout her whole career. The third baseman led the Spartans this year with a .456 average and had 15 doubles and 25 RBIs.
Boswell enjoyed a breakout campaign this year. She led the Spartans with five homers and 40 RBIs and hit 425.
Carola was another breakout player on the field in 2023. The junior first baseman/pitcher hit .294 with five doubles, three home runs and 23 RBIs and scored 24 runs. She also carried an 8-2 record on the mound with 83 strikeouts and a 2.98 ERA.
