Donald Lee “Don” Walton
Donald Lee “Don” Walton, 79, of Maxwelton, died on Sunday, May 7, 2023.
Born in Renick, WV, on September 4, 1943, he was a son of the late Edward Alpine and Edna Catherine Halterman Walton.
Don was a graduate of Renick High School, served in the U.S. Air Force, and retired as an electrician from Hercules Incorporated Plant in Covington, VA.
His passion was to fish, hunt, and roam the country roads of West Virginia. He will always be remembered for the stories shared of fishing and hunting events he participated in throughout his life with family and friends.
He felt and experienced the true meaning of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eldon, Larry, Henry, and Earl Walton; three sisters, Helen McMillion, Phyllis Miller, and Juanita Dineen.
Don is survived by one sister, Sue (John) Wyman of Lewisburg; sister-in-law, Joyce Walton of Frankford, WV; brother-in-law, Dickie Dineen of White Sulphur Springs; along with several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at Morningside Cemetery, Renick, with Rev. Ron Miller officiating.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Greenbrier County Committee on Aging, P.O. Box 556, Rupert, WV 25984.
