Selwyn Vanderpool, 94, a resident of 734 Vanderpool Lane, Renick, WV, died Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
Selwyn was born September 18, 1922, at Radnor, Wayne County, WV, the son of Jessie Mabel Patrick Vanderpool and John Mathias Vanderpool.
Selwyn was a graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in business administration. He served with the United States Air Force during World War II. After his honorable discharge from military service, he was employed in the area of sales and marketing throughout the remainder of his career.
He was an active member of the Greenbrier County Republican Club. His passion was hunting on his Greenbrier County farm. He and his wife, Lila, had been residents of Greenbrier County since 1971.
In addition to his parent, he was predeceased by his wife of 46 years, Lila Litchfield Vanderpool; four sisters; and five brothers.
A memorial celebration of Selwyn Vanderpool’s life will be scheduled for a later date.
