BENNETT
Dewey Milton Bennett, 91, of Alderson, WV, went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life, Mary. Dewey was born in Pax, WV, on October 12, 1931. He was the son of the late Dewey Everett and Grace Elizabeth Elliot Bennett.
Dewey was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. After serving in the Army, he returned to be a bottler with the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Alderson, WV. Dewey is known for “his special mixture of Pepsi.”
If there was ever a man who loved hunting, it was Dewey. He was at home in the woods and loved hunting with his family. He killed his last deer at age 89.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Larry Bennett and his wife, Evelyn, of Glace; his daughter, Brenda Hunter and her husband, Rick, of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Jeremy Bennett and wife, Amy, Shane Bennett and fiancé, Carrie, Aaron Street and wife, April, Kaitlin Loux and husband, Aaron, Bethany Emery and husband, Jack, and Olivia Hunter and her significant other, Justis.
Dewey had a special place in his life and heart for his great-grandchildren: Destiny Bennett, Trista Bennett, Hadley Bennett, Gage Bennett, Kynslee Bennett, Peyton Street, Noah Street, Preston Loux, Emilia Loux, Fiona Loux, and Finn Emery.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Lantz Funeral Home, Alderson, WV, with Pastor Randy Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023, from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Lantz Funeral Home, Alderson, WV.
In lieu of flowers, Dewey’s family appreciated the care Autumn Way Assisted Living of Rupert provided. They would appreciate donations to the facility.
