HILLSBORO (WVDN) – Students, retirees and individuals from all walks of life looking to learn a new skill, gain job experience or transition from one career to the next can take advantage of paid service opportunities through AmeriCorps and High Rocks.
High Rocks Educational Corporation is a nonprofit organization that educates, empowers and inspires young people through social enterprise, leadership skills and volunteerism. The AmeriCorps program is one of many programs at High Rocks designed to help participants reach their full potential.
Placement in the AmeriCorps program starts March 7 with opportunities in hospitality, information technology and agricultural positions in both Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties.
The benefits of serving with AmeriCorps include a monthly stipend, free tuition at in-state colleges, funding to pay off existing student loan debt or for future education and professional development.
AmeriCorps, a federal agency, brings people together to tackle the country’s most pressing challenges through national service and volunteering. AmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer to serve with organizations dedicated to improving communities. AmeriCorps helps make service to others a cornerstone of our national culture.
