Helen B. Cole, 94, of Frankford, WV, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
She was born March 31, 1922, in Frankford and was the daughter of Blaine and Keturah Candice Hankins White.
Helen graduated from Frankford High School in Frankford and went on to graduate from Greenbrier Hospital in Ronceverte, WV, in 1945 as a registered nurse. She moved to New Jersey in 1946 and lived there until returning to West Virginia in 1972. She was of the Christian faith, being raised in the Church of Christ. She enjoyed playing rummy with her “girls.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell, in 1999; sister, Hazel McKeever; and brothers, Bernard White, Maynard White, James White, Bill White, and Paul White.
Survivors include her daughters, Corliss “Apple” Kirschner of Renick, WV, Lynn Lee of Frankford, Nadine Wykle (Jack) of Frankford, and Debra Zahorenko (Stan) of Williamsburg, WV; her special daughter, Paula Wykle of Renick; her grandchildren, Wade Kirschner (Caroline), Tammy Spradlin, Tommy Lee, and Jaime Wykle; great-granddaughter, Olivia Kirschner; brother, Raynard White (Jean) of Frankford; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, WV, with the Rev. Ike Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Visitation will be from 1 PM until time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Helen’s memory to Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
