Billy Onias Martin, 87, of Fort Collins, CO, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, in the arms of his only son and protector, Anthony Martin.
Billy was born February 27, 1929, in Anthony Creek, WV, to Jake Martin and Elizabeth Trainer Martin.
Billy married Elsie Smith in 1950. They moved to Denver, CO, in 1969. He attended night school to get his GED and learned to be an electrician and also achieved his refrigeration and auto mechanic license. He owned and operated Billy’s RV Service in Berthoud, CO, starting in 1981. He also worked for Front Royal Range and Great Divide Trailers. He was a resident of Hickory Village Mobile Home Park for 30 years.
He enjoyed his bike rides and the river. He was always working on something to keep his restless hands active. Billy was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2011.
Survivors include his children, Linda Ann, Janet, Marilyn, Billie Jane, Betty, Margaret, and Anthony; two siblings, Ora Henson of Clintonville, WV, and John Martin and wife, Victoria, of Neola, WV; 26 grandchildren; and over 37 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Billy in death were his parents; wife, Elsie; siblings, Virginia, Stella, Betty, Robert, and Glenda; two daughters, Patricia and Brenda; and granddaughter, Glenda Hull.
A viewing was held Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 4-6 PM at Bohlender Funeral Chapel in Fort Collins.
A private interment will be held at a later date at Grandview Cemetery.
