Meta Gale Feury, 69, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, went home to be with her Lord and mother and father on Friday, September 30, 2016.
Born at Gap Mills, WV, on October 6, 1946, she was the daughter of Omer and Ruby Bland.
She was a dedicated employee of The Greenbrier and worked as a parlor maid for 41 years. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was the most beautiful, caring, loving, generous, hard working woman you’d have ever met. Even after multiple hip and knee surgeries, she still wouldn’t retire. If any one of us was sick or in the hospital, she was right there, the whole time, never leaving our side. Anytime we needed anything, she made sure we had it and would never say a word about it. For birthdays and holidays, she made sure she was there for every one of us. October was the biggest month for birthdays, and her wedding anniversary this month made 54 years.
She was always doing for everyone else, never worrying about herself. She was the strongest woman we knew. She was the one we went to for advice and someone to talk to. Even if she was dealing with her own problems and worries, you’d never know it unless she wanted you to know. She was stubborn and hardheaded at times, but no matter what we did or said, she’d always forgive and move on.
Some other things about her was she loved her dog, Brownie. They treated her like their child. She was so spoiled that nobody could come around without Brownie getting jealous and showing her teeth. She would even sneak chicken for her if we went out to eat or go through Wendy’s and get her chicken nuggets. She loved to decorate the outside for every holiday, and the inside was always covered with beautiful decorations. She would even decorate herself and always had earrings and a shirt for every holiday. She loved her costume jewelry and loved to order from QVC, Avon, etc.
She was loved by so many and will always be greatly missed. As we grieve and ask why, we know she is walking up in heaven with her mother, father, and her two brothers. She is no longer feeling pain or heartache. Even though life will never be the same without her, we know she’s in a better place.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clinton and Jerry Bland.
Survivors include her husband, Marshall Edgar “Red” Feury; a daughter, Tammy Yeack of White Sulphur Springs; sons, Mark Feury of White Sulphur Springs and Sammy Feury and wife, Denise, of Covington, VA; grandchildren, Ashley Yeack, Duell Feury, Danielle Feury, Chasity Mankins, and April Mankins; great-grandchildren, Kendall Kincaid, Brayden Kincaid, Mark Mankins, Daniel Mankins, Jolynn Johnston, Brody Abney, and Bryanna Abney; a sister, Kay Mace of Baltimore, MD; and many more loved ones.
