William James “Bill” Pettit of North Hills, CA, died Thursday, July 14, 2016.
Born in White Sulphur Springs, WV, on December 22, 1928, he was a son of Margaret Gillespie and Martin Bernard Pettit of Calais, ME.
Bill was retired from the F.B.I. as a special agent in Los Angeles, CA, and was in the Korean conflict.
Preceding him in death, other than his parents, were his loving wife, Bernice Loris; his sister, Margaret Elizabeth Chappell of Sumter, NC; and brother, George Thomas Pettit of White Sulphur Springs.
Survivors include his daughters, Carla Toms (Sean Enton) of Chico, CA, and Kathleen Gutierrez and daughter, Gabrielle, of Portland, OR; brother, John Bernard (Cecilia) of Silver Spring, MD; sisters, Mary Patricia Preil (Bob) of Fort Washington, MD, and Jean Ann Haranzo (Frank) of Roanoke, VA; and sister-in-law, Virginia Arthur of White Sulphur Springs.
The body was cremated, and there was no visitation or services.
