Fielding V. Shockley, 86, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at his residence in Lewisburg, WV.
Born June 3, 1930, in Wythe County, VA, he was a son of Marion V. and Vada Hallie Sutphin Shockley.
Mr. Shockley was an Army veteran, a member of the Lewisburg Baptist Church, a retired technician with Sears for over 29 years, and after retiring, owned and operated Shockley’s Appliance Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Colleen Smith; and a brother, Melvin Shockley.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geneva M. Phillips Shockley; daughter, Kimberly May of Fairlea, WV; sons, Stephen Shockley of Organ Cave, WV, and Wayne Shockley and wife, Kim, of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Travis Shockley, Amanda Shockley, Justin Shockley, Marcus Shockley, and Tamranne May; great-grandchildren, Hydie Adkinson, Adrianna Shockley, Chloe Shockley, Adalie Shockley, Skyler Shockley, and Austin Shockley; sisters, Velma Walters and Merry Stoots, both of Pulaski, VA; and a brother, Sherman Shockley of Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg with Pastor Jonathan Comer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 18, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home in Lewisburg.
