Wilda Weldon Williams, 74, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea, WV, with loved ones by her side.
Wilda was born July 27, 1941, in Ronceverte to Charlie Strong and Julia Weldon.
She will be remembered by her children, grandaughter, and family members as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, master chef, outgoing, and full of life. She will be forever loved, missed, and remembered with the warmest thoughts.
She was a graduate of Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte and attended two years of college in Reston, VA, and one year of community college in Lewisburg, WV. She retired from The General Lewis Inn in Lewisburg as an evening desk clerk. She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Ronceverte and held the offices of board of trustees, treasurer, and food committee. Wilda will be greatly missed by all who knew her and gladly greeted by the Lord Jesus.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lewis Williams; her father, Charlie Strong; mother, Julia Weldon; two sisters, Mary Weldon and Premelia Turner; and two brothers, Raymond Weldon and Willie Weldon.
She is survived by two beloved daughters, Dana Williams and Venita Williams, and one granddaughter, Lanice Jackson, all of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Louise Smith (Bob) of Ronceverte; two brothers, James Weldon of Charleston, WV, and Charles Weldon (Elaine) of Lewisburg; her dearest friend, Elaine Daniels of Ronceverte; sister-in-law, Norma Freeman of Homestead, PA; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Homegoing services will be conducted at the Main Street United Methodist Church, 223 Main Street, Ronceverte, on Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Ronceverte.
Family will receive visitors and friends at 1:30 PM, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family will accept monetary donations in care of Venita Williams.
Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
