Annie May Godfrey, 87, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2016, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
Born in Eagle Rock, VA, on November 10, 1928, she was the daughter of James and Hazel White Robinson.
Annie was a member of the Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Iron Gate, VA, was a missionary, and was a certified nursing assistant.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Godfrey in 1989; children, Norman, Roy, and Barbara; brothers, Frank, Robert “Bob,” and William Robinson; and brother-in-law, Clarence “Chappy” Allen.
Survivors include children, Odessa M. Godfrey, Stewart, Frank, Timothy, and Gillie Godfrey, all of White Sulphur Springs; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a close niece, Valerie Wanson; brothers, Loyd Ray Robinson (Kathleen), Raymond Robinson, Thomas Robinson, and Charles Robinson; sisters, Shirley Flower; Catherine Cook, Hazel Allen, and Lucille Beverly (David); and dear friend, Pinky O’Neil.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at 1 PM at the Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ in Iron Gate with the Rev. Delawrence Godfrey, Pastor Kathie Holland, and Michael Beverly officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mount Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery at Glen Wilton, VA.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church in Iron Gate.
Friends may call at Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs on Tuesday, March 1, anytime after 1 PM.
