Marvin Alston Snedegar Sr., 62, of Hollywood, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, July 6, 2015, at his home following a long illness.
He was born at Lewisburg, WV, on June 3, 1953, a son of the late Rev. Roy and Helen Blankenship Snedegar.
Marvin was the owner and operator of Mountaineer Guns in White Sulphur Springs, WV, for 33 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delcie Gullian and Mattie Hensley.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alydia Coleman Snedegar of Hollywood; three sons, Marvin Snedegar Jr. and Roy Keith Snedegar of Salem, VA, and Jason Roy Snedegar of Hollywood; a brother, Darius Snedegar of Lewisburg; a sister, Eva Bryant of Caldwell, WV; two granddaughters, Taylor and Shanna Snedegar of Salem; a grandson, Kevin Snedegar of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside rites were held at 10 AM on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the New Lebanon Cemetery at Pickaway, WV, with the Rev. Richard “Buck” Caldwell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Groves Funeral Home, P.O. Box 436, Union, WV 24983.
