Virginia F. Baker, 88, of White Sulphur Springs, WV, entered heaven on Wednesday, June 17, 2015.
Born in Fort Spring, WV, on June 20, 1924, she was raised in Neola, WV, by her loving Ramsey family.
Virginia was a graduate of White Sulphur High School in 1944 and Charleston School of Business. She was employed by Western Union at The Greenbrier hotel. Virginia was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the CEOS Club and the Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs. She was a long-time member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs and was a supporter of the Humane Society.
Virginia enjoyed family time, her cats, writing, and painting.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Jesse in 1982; her son, Paul in 2008; sisters, Neva, Irene, and Gladys; and brothers, Eddie and Ellis.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael Baker (Elizabeth) of White Sulphur Springs and Tina Baker Kouns (Glenn) of Fort Meyers, FL; grandchildren, Steve Allen, Lindsey, Sarah, Amanda, Rachael, Robert, and Steve; great-grandchildren, Koralynn, Sophie, Julia, Courtney, and Kyle; and a special niece, Little Linda of Beckley, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 21, 2015, at 2:30 PM at the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Joseph Geiger officiating. Interment will follow in the Alvon Methodist Cemetery at Alvon, WV.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 20, 2015, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Greenbrier Humane Society.
