Donald Edward Marshall, 81, of Alderson, WV, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the White Sulphur Springs Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV, following a short illness.
Born May 20, 1933, in Alderson, he was the son of the late Issac and Ruth Thelma Robinson Marshall.
Mr. Marshall was a retired, self-employed truck driver and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Alderson. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved dogs.
Mr. Marshall enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will always be remembered for being very outgoing and people oriented. He never met a stranger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dreama Hickman Marshall; and a son, Ronald Marshall.
Survivors include two brothers, Carl Marshall of Columbus, OH, and Melvin Marshall and wife, Brenda, of Columbus; a granddaughter, Joylen Marshall of Brooklyn, NY; a grandson, Jason Marshall of Brooklyn; a great-grandson, Javon Marshall of Brooklyn; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Monday, February 9, 2015, at 1 PM at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel in Alderson with the Rev. Ron Sherrod officiating. Mr. Marshall’s final resting place will be at the Pine Ridge Cemetery in Alderson.
Friends may call Monday from 12-1 PM at the funeral home.
