Born July 20, 1957, in Union, WV, she was the daughter of Geraldine Faye Burns Terry of Fort Spring and the late Lester Junior Terry.

Mrs. Sims was a homemaker and a member of the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Fort Spring. She enjoyed playing the piano and knitting and loved to read and play video games. But most of all, Mrs. Sims loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandnieces, Kaylea and Claralyn.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Charles Robert “Bobby” Sims of Fort Spring; her mother, Geraldine Faye Burns Terry of Fort Spring; a special nephew, Shawn Terry and wife, Jessica, of Fort Spring; two special grandnieces, Kaylea and Claralyn Terry of Fort Spring; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, 2015, at 2 PM at the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors Jonathan Hunt and Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery in Fort Spring.

Friends may call Thursday, February 5, from 7-9 PM at the Fort Spring Missionary Baptist Church and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Adam Sims, Jim Burns, Matthew Burns, Eddie Burns, Rodney Thomas, and John Johnson.
