During a local crisis, many citizens receive updates through the Internet, news broadcasts on TV and the local paper; however, these updates can sometimes take a few hours to be posted. Nixle, a privately held United States organization, is a website that allows updates to be sent to your phone or email or to be accessed via the web in real time.
