LEVEL
William Patrick “Pat” Level, age 76, of Organ Cave, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at home, surrounded by family, following a short illness. Born February 1, 1944 in Organ Cave, he was son to the late William “Bill” Hunter Level and Rosemary “Sweetie” Jarrett Level.
Pat graduated from Greenbrier High School in 1961, and he attended Concord College, Athens, WV. He worked for the West Virginia Department of Highways for nine years and owned and operated Spring Hill Dairy Farm in Organ Cave from 1975 to 2008. Pat was also a member of Salem Presbyterian Church. Pat was a hard worker, loved to laugh, and could find humor in just about anything. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, being outdoors, hanging out with his dogs, and loved the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Katherine “Katie” Level Helms and Mary Sharon Level Neely; and daughter-in-law, Maryann Allen Level.
Survivors include his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Barbara E. Level; three sons, Billy Level of Organ Cave, Danny Level of Caldwell, and Barry Level of Organ Cave; one daughter, Angie Level Shaffier and husband, Kirk of Rockville, VA; six grandchildren, Alan, Ethan, Lindsey and Hayden Level, and Patrick and Will Shaffier; one great-granddaughter, Riley Noel Level; three step-daughters, Gina Still and husband, Ray of Alderson, Tina Carter and husband, Eddie of Grassy Meadows, and Julia Stephens and husband, Al of Wytheville, VA; three step-sons, Neil Pence and wife, Andi of Falls Church, VA, Dale Pence and wife, Charity of Second Creek and, Jay Pence and wife, Sherry of Second Creek;
Sixteen step-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kari Still; Aaron, Ryan, and Justin Riffey; Adam, Brayden, Layla, Weston and Jaycie Pence; Walker, Senah, Zack, and Kyle Stephens; Tristan Morgan, and Taylor Carter; one brother, David Hunter Level and wife, Kay of Knoxville, TN; three sisters, Juanita “Pinky” Level Johnson and husband, Ken of Indio, CA, Margaret “Margy” Lou Level Green and husband, Patrick of Organ Cave, and Joanna “Joey” Delaquil and husband, Joe of Rock Hill, SC; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 19, at the Salem Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Organ Cave, WV with Pastor Gene Sizemore and Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1 p.m.
Due to the regulations associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are recommended while attending the service.
