GORDON
Neva Josephine Cooley Gordon was born May 10, 1924 to the late Lawrence and Azeal Cooley in Lewisburg, WV and transitioned from this side of life to be with the Lord on Monday, December 14, 2020 with her daughter and son by her bedside.
Neva Jo was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister friend, and neighbor, who truly loved everyone and was loved by everyone. She was a member Mt. Tabor Baptist Church since the age of 13.
Preceding Neva Jo in transiting this life other than her parents, Lawrence McElheny Cooley and Azeal Spotts Cooley; was her husband of 53 years, George Gordon; her sons, George Gordon, Jr. and James (Flash) Gordon; four brothers, Lawrence (Bus) Cooley, Julian Cooley, Deacon Paul Cooley, and Van Cooley; sisters, Myrtle Dunn and Juanita Brown.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her son, Marion (Coach) Gordon and his wife Tamara; daughter, Denise (Neece) Jones and her husband Jay; nine great-great-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 12 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved friends. She was fondly known as “Pink Grandma” and “Granny-Ma”.
A Home Going for Mrs. Gordon will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the Graystone Baptist Church in Fairlea with Rev. Greg Scott officiating and Rev. Ronald Sherrod delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.
The family will receive family and friends on Monday, December 21 from 1 p.m. until time of services.
