When SkyWest Airlines announced plans to stop providing service to the Greenbrier Valley Airport, they were met with an order from the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) preventing them from pulling out of the Lewisburg airport until another airline is secured.
Today, the replacement for SkyWest was discussed during a special session of the Greenbrier Valley Airport Authority.
After an executive session discussing the topic, airport authority members moved to revisit the issue on June 21.
Greenbrier Valley Airport Director Brian Belcher explained that SkyWest has a commitment to provide flights to and from the airport until March 2023.
