My name is Davina Agee, and I am blessed to be a candidate for Greenbrier County Board of Education for the May 10th election. I’m glad to have this opportunity to let you know a little about me.

I live my life on a foundation of faith and the Word of God. I believe in loving people and caring for those who need extra help.

I graduated from Greenbrier West High school, as did my husband and my oldest daughter. I still have two children attending Greenbrier County Schools. My husband and I left Greenbrier County when he graduated from The State Police Academy. After spending many years away, we were finally able to come “home” to Greenbrier County seven years ago.

Currently, I work for Children’s Home Society as the director of our Greenbrier Valley Children’s Home in Rupert.

I have spent my entire adult life working with children and families. In Pocahontas County I was a board certified school social worker and a substitute teacher. I am a WVSSAC certified coach and have coached in Pocahontas and Greenbrier Counties. I have worked in the head start program and also the drop out prevention program.

I have 20 years of experience working with families who face struggles that range from economic disparities to substance abuse and mental health crises. I will advocate for every child to reach their maximum potential and to overcome the many obstacles that prevent our youth from becoming the successful adults they were meant to be.

Like many other parents, the school year of 2020 helped me to realize even more the crucial role that our educators play in the lives of so many children. I will also advocate for our teachers, school administrators and personnel to ensure that we are developing and keeping the finest individuals in our school system.

I believe that the safety of our children in schools is a top priority. We have come to a point in society when we can no longer turn a blind eye to school violence. I hope to keep a strong focus on the safety and security of our schools and advocate for continued partnership with state and local law enforcement agencies to continue to grow our knowledge and keep up with the evolution of safe schools.

I would be honored to have your vote and if elected, I will dedicate my time and energy to listening to the teachers, parents and children of Greenbrier County because each one deserves a voice. Every school in every corner of the county will have my attention and my dedication.

Children are the feet that will walk in the tomorrow that we may never see. Let us be sure they walk with all the wisdom we wish to impart on the future!

Thank you and God bless!
