Former mayor and councilmember of the city of Lewisburg filed on January 28th, 2022 to run on the Democrat ticket for Greenbrier County Commission. What a difference 25 years makes. Being only the third female to sit on council and the first female to serve as Mayor was truly an eye opening experience. Sometimes it could be truly hurtful and sometimes it was such an honor. Even today there are those who still call me Mayor.
One of my first goals will be to work toward just finding areas to agree on. And when we just cannot, disagree with grace and dignity.
Folks tell me that I am a good listener. That will be a second goal. Please talk to me. Give me your ideas. Tell me your needs.
Finally, just be the person you can tell your children “she is OUR county commissioner” with pride, that DeEtta Hunter “cares about you.”
