A Greenbrier County man is back in jail after failing to appear in court to face a host of accusations. Now including two counts of failure to appear after being released on bond, Darren Lawrence Fisher, 34, of Lewisburg is charged with forgery and uttering, two counts of violating a protective order and stalking.

The first count of violating a protective order stems from an incident that occurred on Wednesday, October 14 in which Fisher allegedly harassed two women in the area of the Dollar General store in Ronceverte.

According to the criminal complaint, “the accused (Fisher) began cussing the victim and accusing her of stealing his cell phone. The victim then reminded the accused of the protective order. The accused stated that he did not care about the protective order.”

The second count of violating a protective order, as well as the stalking charges were filed on June 10 of this year, after Fisher reportedly repeatedly harassed his former girlfriend at her place of employment over a period of several days.

As explained in the criminal complaint, “(the victim) stated that the accused (Fisher) had called (her place of employment) approximately 100 times over the past week from various numbers and would only speak when she answered the phone. (the victim) stated that the accused had made threats to come to (the victim’s) job or come to (the victim’s) home and kill (the victim).”

The victim further reported that Fisher also stated he would kill himself on the victim’s front porch. Investigating officers reported “approximately 75 missed calls” on the victim’s cell phone, along with “several threatening messages.”

The forgery and uttering charges were filed on Wednesday, July 7 after Fisher had allegedly stolen and forged several checks from the person with whom he had been periodically residing.

According to the criminal complaint, Fisher successfully cashed one of the forged checks, made out to himself, in the amount of $485, before bank officials became aware of the fraudulent activity. Subsequent attempts in the amounts of $335 and $495 from two other branch locations were unsuccessful.

Darren Lawrence Fisher was arrested on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 11, and is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail. Fisher is not eligible for bond at this time.
