CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Governor Patrick Morrisey announced that West Virginia state employees will receive a half-day off on Friday, April 3, in recognition of Good Friday and in preparation for the Easter holiday.
“The dedication of our state employees is truly remarkable,” said Governor Morrisey. “They work tirelessly year-round serving the people of West Virginia with professionalism and heart. I hope this will provides an opportunity for everyone to spend meaningful time with their families and loved ones over the Easter weekend.”
The time off will be granted without charge to employees’ accrued annual leave. This applies only to employees of the State of West Virginia and does not affect private businesses, local governments, or other entities.
