CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – State Treasurer Larry Pack was in Charleston on Wednesday, March 25 to present more than $354,000 in unclaimed property funds to Vandalia Health, Inc.
“Whenever we can return such a large sum of money back to vital businesses, such as Vandalia Health, it is a good day. We hope these dollars supplement Vandalia’s mission of providing essential healthcare services to the people of the Mountain State,” Treasurer Pack said. “We have over $500 million that belong to the people and businesses of West Virginia. We encourage individuals and other organizations to keep checking our unclaimed property database to see if some of it belongs to you.”
Treasurer Pack joined Vandalia Health President and CEO Dave Ramsey on Wednesday morning to present an unclaimed property check, valued at $354,125.46, which came from miscellaneous payments totaling 1,151 properties.
“We are grateful the Treasurer found this significant amount of unclaimed funds,” said Dave Ramsey, President and CEO of Vandalia Health. “It costs Vandalia Health’s 17 hospitals and 220 clinics more than $7 million a day just to keep the doors open, the lights on and be ready for patients. Finding this money is a very pleasant surprise.”
The Treasurer’s Office has more than $536 million worth of unclaimed property listings in its database.
Since the start of Fiscal Year 2026, which began on July 1, 2025, the Treasurer’s Office has returned more than $17 million to rightful owners.
