LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — Lewisburg has been named a finalist in two categories for the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, keeping the town in the national spotlight for its culinary scene and Southern charm.

The city is currently competing for the titles of Best Small Town Food Scene and Best Small Town in the South.

Lewisburg is looking to defend a dominant streak in the food category, having secured first place for three years. A win this year would mark the fourth straight year the city has topped the list for its diverse collection of restaurants, bakeries, and cafes.

In the Best Small Town in the South category, Lewisburg is aiming to improve on its 2025 performance, where it finished in second place behind Starkville, Mississippi.

The rankings are determined by public voting following nominations from a panel of travel experts. As of mid-March, Lewisburg held the No. 2 spot for food and the No. 5 spot for Best Small Town in the South.

The 10Best awards highlight destinations across the U.S. for their unique attractions, culture, and hospitality.

Voting is open to the public online through March 30. Supporters can cast their ballots daily at the USA Today 10Best website. Winners are expected to be announced later this year.
