Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) — The West Virginia Department of Agriculture (WVDA) is pleased to announce the return of the West Virginia Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) for the 2026 growing season.

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) provides eligible low-income senior citizens with access to fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Seniors can sign up for vouchers through their local county senior services offices and redeem them at approved farmers’ markets and vendors across the state.

Vouchers, valued at $30, will be available beginning June 1 at local senior centers. Seniors interested in participating are encouraged to contact their local senior center for additional information.

Farmers wishing to participate in the program are encouraged to apply now. Applications are currently available and must be submitted by April 15, 2026. Program details and application materials can be found on the WVDA website: https://agriculture.wv.gov/ag-business/senior-farmers-market-nutrition-program/.
