Local Dance Team Shines at Recent Competition, Earns Grand Champion Title

LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – The Greenbrier East Spartanettes Dance Team achieved outstanding results at the Star Talent dance competition in Roanoke, VA, showcasing the talent and dedication of its dancers.

Individual performances earned top honors, with Serena Ramsey receiving the Judges’ Award for Commercial Queen, a Platinum rating, 1st place in the Senior Hip Hop category, and 1st Overall Senior Solo, along with a $1,000 Discovery Scholarship. Morgan Eagle earned a Platinum rating, 1st place in the Senior Contemporary category, and 3rd Overall Senior Solo. Micah Lane earned a Platinum rating, 1st place in the Senior Lyrical category, and 4th Overall Senior Solo. Krisanna Elmore earned a Platinum rating and 2nd place in the Senior Contemporary category.

Group performances with Anna-Stacia Bartley, Gracie Campbell, Morgan Eagle, Krisanna Elmore, Micah Lane, Adrienne Morgan, Serena Ramsey, and Abbe Sams were equally impressive. “Like This” (Hip Hop), “Greenlight” (Jazz), and “Turn Up the Music” (Open) all earned Platinum ratings and 1st place in their respective small group categories. The team’s “Turn Up the Music” performance was awarded 1st place Overall Senior Group and Grand Champion for ages 13 and up. The team is coached by Greenbrier East teacher Stephanie Peyatt and Encore Performing Arts dance instructors Makayla Casenelli and Hannah Morningstar Stout. Casenelli choreographed all the winning numbers from this weekend.
