One Arrested After Shots Fired Call in Branchland

Branchland, WVa. (WVDN) — On Wednesday, March 4,  2026, troopers from the Hamlin Detachment responded to the Branchland area of Lincoln County for a report of shots fired.

The trooper’s investigation revealed that Michael Terry, 54, of West Hamlin, drove to a residence in Branchland, exited his vehicle, and discharged two (2) rounds with a rifle and then fled the scene.

Warrants have been obtained on Mr. Terry for Wanton Endangerment and Prohibited Person with a Firearm. Mr. Terry has not been located at this time.

Anyone with information concerning Mr. Terry’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Hamilton Detachment at 304-824-3101 or their local State Police Detachment.

No one was injured in this incident.

This investigation is still ongoing.
