CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – The Supreme Court of West Virginia will host The West Virginia Civics Coalition’s “Civic Learning for a Stronger West Virginia” event from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 11, in the Supreme Court Courtroom in the West Virginia Capitol in Charleston.
The event, part of the National Civics Learning Week, will also be livestreamed on the Supreme Court’s YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/wvsupremecourt.
During the third annual National Civics Learning Week (March 9-13), champions for civic learning all over the country will feature programs encouraging a dialogue about the importance of civics education.

9:20 a.m. – Teen Courts-WV Supreme Court Justice Thomas Ewing

10:00 a.m. – WV Voting System-WV Secretary of State Kris Warner-Voting Machines/Learning Center
10:30 a.m.- WVCC Initiatives-Listening Tour and Cords Program-Student Leaders-Sarah McBee/Shelby Plants/Joshua Copley/Maddox Davis
10:50 a.m. – Mock Appellate Court Argument-Woodrow Wilson High School Rho Kappa Chapter
11:35 a.m. – Black Policy-Dr. Shanequa Smith
11:45 a.m. – 26th Amendment-Office of the Secretary of State
12:00 p.m. – Closing

Optional tours of the Supreme Court Learning Center are available after the conclusion of the event, as well as at the State Museum in the West Virginia Culture Center.
