HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WVDN) – Senator Jim Justice visited Facing Hunger Foodbank and presented a check for $1,103,000 to support the renovation of the organization’s warehouse distribution center:
“West Virginians have always stood together, and Facing Hunger Foodbank represents just that. I know how important it is to make sure our families have access to nutritious food right here at home. I created the Posey Perry Emergency Food Fund as Governor and I’ve carried that legacy to the Senate, which is why I fought so hard to secure this funding from the start. This renovation will allow the Facing Hunger Foodbank to distribute more food efficiently and make certain that absolutely nobody in our state wonders where their next meal will come from,” said Senator Jim Justice.
BACKGROUND:
- Senator Justice successfully secured over $1 million in funding for Facing Hunger in the recent appropriations package.
- Senator Justice has a long-standing record of supporting food banks and hunger relief programs across the state.
