Janis Goode Salmons

Janis Goode Salmons of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on February 7, 2026.

Janis was born on July 4, 1938, to Freeman and Joyce Bowles Goode. The eldest of five siblings, she grew up on a tobacco farm in Griffithsville, WV. Upon her marriage to Melvin Salmons, Lewisburg became their lifelong home. Janis retired from Farm Credit, where she worked as a loan processor. She was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and sister, Loretta Tullis.

Janis is survived by daughter, Tina (Tim) Stover of Lewisburg, WV; grandchildren, Caitlin (Tommy) Sykes of Lewisburg, WV, and Jacob (Morgan) Stover of Beckley, WV; great-grandchildren, Addy Sykes and Harlan Stover; brothers, David (Helen) Goode of Providence Forge, VA, William (Sue) Goode of Griffithsville, WV, and Kenneth (Kathy) Goode of Levelland, TX.

A private Service was held with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating.
