In accordance with W.Va. Code §8A-7-5, notice is hereby given that the Greenbrier County Commission will meet to conduct public hearings regarding the recommendation to adopt an updated zoning ordinance. Two public hearings will be held: Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the Underwood Building at the WV State Fairgrounds located at 947 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV.

Under consideration at the public hearings will be the proposed updated Greenbrier County Zoning Ordinance as recommended by the Greenbrier County Planning Commission.

Summary of proposal: The proposed update reorganizes, clarifies, and modernizes the ordinance text to better reflect current planning practices, applicable state law, and the needs of Greenbrier County; retains the existing zoning districts and existing zoning map; replaces the text of the ordinance to revise definitions, uses, procedures and performance standards.

The study and report on zoning, including the zoning map and proposed replacement zoning ordinance, are available for review in the County Commission office located in the Courthouse, in county public libraries, and are also available for viewing and download on the county website: www.greenbriercounty.net.

Any member of the public may attend and be heard on the matter at the public hearings. Written comments will be accepted and made a part of the record if they are received prior to the close of the hearing on March 4, 2026, by:
