FAIRLEA- Greenbrier East football’s Nate Suttle recently ended his recruitment suspense when he chose to commit and continue his playing career at Concord University.

The 2025 second team all-state selection saved his best stuff for his last year as a Spartan. He had 43 catches for 521 yards and six TDs, 404 kick return yards and two TDs, and he added a rushing score as well. On defense, Suttle racked up 34 tackles and five interceptions, including a pick-6.

Suttle had several options to choose from, but at the end of the day, the comfort level in Athens was just too much to pass up.

“I chose Concord because I felt like the culture and the family there was the best fit for me,” Suttle said.

“The entire coaching staff there really stood out to me, and they are definitely people I can see myself being around.”

Though his first couple of seasons at Greenbrier East didn’t go as many hoped, Suttle–who will play receiver and possibly return kicks as well at the next level–would not change a single thing about his high school career and experience in Fairlea.

“The past four years at Greenbrier East have been a huge part of getting me to where I am now,” Suttle stated.

“With the work that we did in the early mornings in January all the way till the end in November, have helped me get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. For me, it grew a bigger love for the pain and soreness that comes with working for what you want. The coaches have helped me in more ways than football. They have helped make me a better man with a stronger character. Looking back at it all, I wouldn’t change a thing that I got to be a part of at Greenbrier East,” he added.

Once he arrives on campus, the future Mountain Lion hopes to show he belongs and wants to try his best to contribute early to his new school.

“The biggest goal I have for myself at Concord is to get as much playing time as I can,” he concluded.
