RONCEVERTE W.Va. (WVDN) – According to a criminal complaint, on Jan. 16, around 2:30 p.m., an officer received a call through the West Virginia State Police Intelligence Unit. The call was to inform the officer of an alleged threatening post made on TikTok. The post read, “If ICE come to town be warned, I’ll mow you down with a 12-gauge. ICE is not welcomed in West Virginia.” In the background of the post was a golden skeleton wearing a black hooded cloak. The officer learned that the post was made by an individual later identified as James Lynwood Allen, 22, of Ronceverte.

The officer informed a relative of Allen’s of the situation, and they said they would bring him to the West Virginia State Police Lewisburg office. When Allen arrived, the officer introduced himself and stated that he wanted to talk about the post made on TikTok. Allen reportedly agreed to discuss the post, and the relative asked to be there during the interview. The officer agreed.

After the officer showed the post he received by email to Allen, Allen allegedly stated he was mad at ICE because he felt they were above the law, and murdering U.S. citizens with no accountability, according to the complaint. The officer reportedly made an attempt to discuss ICE instances where they were involved and the outcome. The officer went on to tell Allen that all law enforcement shootings are investigated with facts presented.

Allen allegedly told the officer multiple times that he was willing to kill ICE agents. The officer asked Allen how he would go about killing the ICE agents. According to the criminal complaint, Allen said he would tell them to “get out of here,” and when they didn’t, he would do it then.

At the time of writing, Allen is in Southern Regional Jail with bail set at $25,000, cash-only.
