GREENBRIER VALLEY W.Va. (WVDN) – On Jan. 25, the Greenbrier River Trail will close from the Harper Road access point (MM 5.5) to Anthony Road (MM 14.15) while the bridges in that section of the Trail are re-decked. As work progresses, different sections of the 78-mile Trail will be inaccessible to users.
Officials urge all Trail users to stay informed about specific closure dates and affected sections by regularly visiting the Greenbrier River Trail Foundation website: https://www.greenbrierrivertrail.com.
Up-to-date information will be posted as the project advances.
Trail officials said, “We ask for your patience and understanding as we complete this important infrastructure improvement. The redecking project will enhance the safety and longevity of the Trail for all users.
“Our sincere thanks go to the West Virginia Division of Highways for their assistance with this Federal Transportation Alternatives contract. We also gratefully acknowledge the generous financial support from those who have helped us meet the 20% match funding requirement: James F.B. Peyton Foundation, Seneca Trail Charitable Foundation, Hollowell Dawkins Foundation, State Parks Foundation and hundreds of Trail users.
“Thank you for your cooperation and continued support of the Greenbrier River Trail.”
