LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) — Carnegie Hall, in collaboration with Greenbrier County music and theatre educators, is once again inviting talented music students in grades 6–12 who live in (or take lessons in) Greenbrier County to participate in the third annual *One Night Only* student showcase. This exciting program culminates in a live performance for family and friends on the Hamilton Auditorium stage at Carnegie Hall on Thursday, March 12, at 7 p.m.
Video submissions for solo performers, mixed ensembles, and bands are now being accepted performing in all genres of music. Full guidelines are available at www.carnegiehallwv.org/one-night-only. The deadline for submitting a video entry is Saturday, February 15, at 5 p.m.
One Night Only is a full-scale, student-driven production supported by student stage crew members, sound engineers, and lighting technicians working alongside Carnegie Hall’s professional staff. A student emcee will also be chosen to host the event and will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a local guest artist.
Support crew selections will be announced on February 18, and performer selections will be announced on Feb. 25. A required rehearsal for all performers, emcees, and stage/tech crew will take place on Wednesday, March 11, at 6 p.m.
The One Night Only Showcase is a ticketed event open to the public. All participating students are encouraged to invite family and friends to cheer them on. Each student who submits an entry will receive one complimentary ticket. Additional tickets are $5 and will be available beginning Monday, February 16.
