RUPERT W.Va. (WVDN) – On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, a 55-year-old male identified as Robert Dean Shaffer II, a registered sex offender, was arrested for Possession of Child Pornography in Rupert, Greenbrier County, West Virginia. This arrest was made by members of the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department following an ICAC investigation in which Mr. Shaffer was discovered to have solicited, acquired, distributed, and possessed large quantities of Child Sexual Abuse Material over an extended period. Mr. Shaffer was arraigned before the Greenbrier County Magistrate and remanded to Southern Regional Jail pending a $100,000.00 cash only bond. Additional charges are pending related to this investigation.
Members of the WVSP ICAC Task Force, Southern Virginia ICAC Task Force, Pennsylvania State Police BCI Computer Crime Unit, Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department, West Virginia State Police, Lewisburg Police Department, WV Parole Office, and the Greenbrier County Probation Office all assisted with this investigation.
