Josephine Dell (Elmore) Mullins

Josephine Dell (Elmore) Mullins, 88, of Stuarts Draft, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Dorr, WV, on March 3, 1937, a daughter of the late Oscar Bernie and Goldie Dell (Dalton) Elmore.

Josephine graduated from Union High School in Union, WV. In the early 1970s, along with her husband, Johnie Mullins, she was the former owner of The Double J Restaurant, now known as the Kalico Kitchen, in Union, WV. She worked as a Forman with Hanover Shoe Company in White Sulphur Springs, WV, and later as a massage therapist at The Greenbrier Hotel, also in White Sulphur Springs, WV. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Mullins; brother, William “Bill” Elmore; brothers-in-law, Robert “Bob” Cohernour, Coy “JR” Linton, and Paul Arbaugh.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barry Mullins and wife, Connie, of Covington, VA, and Lisa Tyree and husband, Mark, of Stuarts Draft, VA; grandchildren, Travis Mullins and Jarett Mullins; great-grandchildren, Landen Mullins and Owen Mullins; sisters, Venecia Arbaugh of Stuarts Draft, Cora Sue Linton of Crimora, VA, and Linda Cohernour of Amhert, VA; brother, John Elmore and wife, Jo Anne, of Stuarts Draft, VA; sister-in-law, Diane Elmore of Stuarts Draft, VA; honorary daughter and son, Tammy and Mike Blevins; beloved dog, Remi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Fairview Christian Church Cemetery, Hillsdale Rd., Keenan, WV, with Pastor David Vaughn officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Josephine’s memory to Calvary United Methodist Church-Mission Ministry, 2179 Stuarts Draft Hwy, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
