WEST VIRGINIA (WVDN) – West Virginia Junior College (WVJC) is thrilled to announce the launch of its new 18-Month Online/Hybrid Radiologic Technology program. This program is now available to interested students who live within an hour and a half of one of the following online/hybrid locations: Morgantown, Elkins, Philippi, Buckhannon, Charleston, Beckley, or Princeton, West Virginia.
“WVJC is proud to introduce the first radiologic technology program of its kind in West Virginia. Developed in direct response to the region’s growing workforce shortage, this online-hybrid model provides accessible didactic education paired with rigorous, in-person laboratory and clinical experiences. This program strengthens both student opportunity and the healthcare systems that depend on well-trained imaging professionals,” said Radiologic Technology Program Director, Dr. Stephanie Stauver.
The program consists of virtual courses and simulations paired with hands-on learning at regional healthcare facilities, giving students some flexibility as they complete their education.
“Our online-hybrid model provides accessible, high-quality education while ensuring students receive the essential hands-on skills required for clinical excellence. We’re preparing the next generation of radiologic technologists who will make a true difference in the rural communities we serve. This program represents our commitment to supporting both students and the healthcare systems that rely on well-trained radiologic technologists,” said Stephanie.
Throughout the accelerated 18-month program, students will gain essential knowledge in medical imaging, radiation safety, technology operations, and more. Graduates will be prepared to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification examination* and be conferred an Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology Degree.
The first cohort of Radiologic Technology students is expected to start in August 2026. Interested applicants are encouraged to begin the application process now, as seats are limited and competitive. For more information about WVJC’s new Radiologic Technology program, please visit wvjc.edu.
*Passing the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exam is required to become a Radiologic Technologist.
