LEWISBURG, W.Va. (WVDN) — The United Way of Greenbrier Valley has announced the return of Empty Bowls, a signature community event scheduled for Feb. 19. The fundraiser will take place from 6-8 p.m. at the WVSOM Student Center located at 400 Lee Street North in Lewisburg.
The annual gathering serves as a creative intersection for local artists, chefs and community members to address local needs. This year’s event is made possible through the generous support of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM).
Attendees will be treated to a selection of gourmet artisan soups crafted by local restaurants and chefs, accompanied by fresh bread and a variety of desserts.
Beyond the meal, the event offers a unique, tangible takeaway: each guest will receive a handcrafted ceramic bowl created by local potters. These bowls are intended to serve as a lasting reminder of the event’s impact and the ongoing mission to fill the “empty bowls” in the Greenbrier Valley community.
Proceeds from the evening directly benefit the United Way of Greenbrier Valley’s 2025-2026 Annual Campaign. These funds support the organization’s broader work in health, education, and financial stability throughout the region.
Each ticket includes two bowls of artisan soup, bread, desserts and a handmade ceramic bowl to keep.
Tickets can be purchased online through Givebutter at https://givebutter.com/qBiTjR. For those who prefer to pay by check or over the phone, tickets can be reserved by calling the United Way office at 304-647-3783.
