Lewisburg, W.Va. (WVDN) – Carnegie Hall presents The Golden Age of the Silver Screen: America’s Favorite Cowboy Songs on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 7 p.m., inviting audiences to get back in the saddle for a toe‑tapping journey through Hollywood’s western musical heyday.

Led by the Thomas Taylor Quartet—featuring Thomas Taylor, Bill Clapham, Alan Copenhaver, and Jerry Wood—the program celebrates the iconic music that defined America’s singing cowboys and captured the spirit of the open range.

Through classic film clips, rich storytelling, and live performances, the evening pays tribute to legends such as Gene Autry, the original Singing Cowboy whose warm baritone shaped a generation; Roy Rogers, the King of the Cowboys whose heroic charm and unforgettable melodies became cultural touchstones; and Tex Ritter, the deep‑voiced trailblazer whose powerful presence brought authentic western storytelling to both film and song. Audiences will discover the stories behind the songs, explore how these stars shaped movie music, and relive the nostalgia, history, and heart that made the West sing.

Whether longtime fans or newcomers to the genre, guests are invited to dust off their boots, tip their hats, and enjoy an unforgettable celebration of America’s favorite cowboy songs.

The Second Stage Series consists of five special events that take place in the Old Stone Room located on the ground floor of the Hall. The intimate setting creates a “speak easy” vibe with an eclectic line-up of entertainment. Seating is general admission.

Tickets are $20. Thanks to the Carnegie Cardinal Fund, Greenbrier County Students attend for free, but still must reserve a seat.

Tickets may be purchased by visiting www.carnegiehallwv.org, calling 304.645.7917, or stopping by the box office at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV.

Carnegie Hall WV is a nonprofit organization supported by individual contributions, grants, and fundraising efforts such as TOOT and The Carnegie Hall Gala. The Hall is located at 611 Church Street, Lewisburg, WV. For more information, please call 304.645.7917 or visit www.carnegiehallwv.org.
