Paul Ryan Lilly II

Paul Ryan Lilly II, passed away on December 25, 2025, at the age of 80 at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV. He was born on June 15, 1945, in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Paul R. Lilly Sr. and Ollie Page Whitlow.

He attended the Greenbrier Military School, where he developed a strong sense of discipline and dedication that would follow him throughout his life. His commitment to service was further demonstrated during the Vietnam War, where he served as a Marine and was honored to receive the Purple Heart for his bravery.

For many years, Paul worked as a heavy equipment operator, contributing significantly to the interstate system in West Virginia. His work ethic and craftsmanship were commendable, reflecting his commitment to both his profession and his community.

Outside of work, Paul had a profound love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and farming, spending countless hours in nature’s embrace, enriching his spirit and fostering memories with family and friends. Paul’s passion for learning also extended to history; he avidly studied both United States and West Virginia history, sharing his knowledge and insights with those around him.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Forrest and Ross Lilly. He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-one years, Dona Whitt Lilly; his daughter, Miranda Mann; and his sons, Trigg Lilly and Andrew Lilly. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Lilly; and sister, Michelle Davis. Adding joy to his life were his grandchildren, Payson Mann and Branson Lilly. Paul will also be remembered fondly by his best friend, Richard Harper; and several nieces and nephews, who cherish the memories and moments they shared with him.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Joey Morgan officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Paul will be laid to rest with military honors at Carroll Hill Cemetery in Lewisburg, WV, following the service.

Paul Ryan Lilly II will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, service, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
