Andersonville Spring

Georgia and the Southland are recovering from another severe drouth, and the famous spring of the old Andersonville prison in Sumter County has proved again that it flows without ceasing. The famous spring was started by lightening during the days of the Civil War. Thousands of Federal prisoners were dying in the Andersonville prison after a drouth had dried up virtually all the wells and small streams in the county. Burning fever spread over the camp, and there was no water to ease the suffering of the sick. The prisoners dropped on their knees and begged God to send them relief. While they were still praying a bolt of lightning struck the hillside, and the water gushed forth to cool the parched tongues of those whose prayers had been answered.

Guarding The Tom Of Harding

Soldiers still are guarding the quiet tomb in a cemetery in Marion, Ohio, where sleeps the late Warren G. Harding, President of the United States, and his widow. And until an order for their withdrawal is issued – though that order may not come for a hundred years – American soldiers will continue
to guard the Harding tomb.

A Question

A query: Why does God permit to exist and function such a scoundrelly gang as the Communist despots ruling Russia, and why will the editors of the large American papers republish the lying and libelous propaganda of these whelps which under such fosterage are directed against the U. S. and other peaceful nations.

Finger Lickin’

A libel suit filed against Col. Harland Sanders, founder and white-bearded trademark of the Kentucky Friend Chicken Corp. was ordered dismissed. In dismissing the suit, Judge Thomas Ballentine held a company’s franchise was not libeled by comments attributed to Sanders by the Louisville Times and Courier-Journal newspapers. They quoted him as saying the gravy sold in Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurants is like “wallpaper paste.” He also was quoted as saying the company’s “crispy chicken” product is “nothing but a fried doughball wrapped around some chicken.”
