NOTICE
In accordance with chapter 8A of the West Virginia Code and the Public Participation Plan adopted by the Greenbrier County Planning Commission, notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission will meet to conduct a public hearing regarding the recommendation to adopt a new zoning ordinance. The hearing will take place on Wednesday January 21, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the Greenbrier Valley Visitor’s Center located at 905 Washington Street West, Lewisburg, WV.
Under consideration at the public hearing will be whether to recommend the repeal and replacement of the existing county zoning ordinance for areas currently subject to zoning in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. The proposed replacement ordinance does not change the zoning classification for any parcel but is intended to update definitions, land uses and performance standards in the test of the ordinance and will incorporate existing ordinances for cell tower communications facilities and exotic entertainment establishments.
The study and report on zoning, including the proposed zoning ordinance and official zoning map, are available for review in the County Commission office located in the Courthouse, in local public libraries, and are also available for viewing and download on the county website: www.greenbriercounty.net.
Any member of the public may attend and be heard on the matter at the public hearing on January 21, 2025. Written comments will be considered if they are received prior to January 21, 2025 at:
