Samuel Ross Tuckwiller
Samuel Ross Tuckwiller of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born June 25, 1934, he was the youngest of four children born to Ross and Margaret Moomaw Tuckwiller.
A graduate of Lewisburg High School and WVU, Sam was a farmer in the Greenbrier Valley area, his entire life.
After graduating WVU, he went to Argentina as an International Foreign Youth Exchange Student. He returned to Greenbrier County, where he met his wife, Mary Lou Coffman, and together, they raised two sons.
Sam was active in Calvary United Methodist Church in Richlands, WV. He was a member of the Richlands Ruritan Club, the Greenbrier County Cattleman’s Association, and the American Angus Association.
Sam was also a member of the Greenbrier County Farm Bureau and served on the Board of Directors for many years. He was also on the West Virginia State Farm Bureau Board of Directors and served on the National Livestock and Meat Board.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; one brother, John Tuckwiller; and two sisters, Frances Simmons and Ruth Sweet.
He is survived by two sons, Byron Tuckwiller (Trish) and Ben Tuckwiller (Lucy); grandchildren, Anthony Banton (Jennifer) and Megan Crane (Josh); great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jackson; brother-in-law, Bert Coffman (Suzanne); sister-in-law, Janet Gould (Ken); and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation will be Friday, December 12, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Calvary United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ron Miller officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church or to Peyton Hospice House.
